“We are so thankful that we reached out to Cathy…

to assist our family in the training of our two dogs, Woody and Bullseye. Woody is a rambunctious, and often anxious, cattle dog mix, and Bullseye is an energetic, four month old, mixed breed puppy. We had tried multiple programs and trainers before our vet highly recommended Cathy. Cathy’s knowledge and ability to train and command our dogs was obvious from the start. Within a short time of working with Woody and Bullseye she had their attention and commanded them with ease. However, what really makes Cathy’s work. amazing is how she teaches and works with YOU to train your dog. Cathy came to our home and listened carefully and patiently to all of our experiences, concerns, and ideas. She was very encouraging and dispersed responsibility amongst all of our family members so that training would be a team effort. Cathy is always accessible and open to our questions and concerns. After just one visit with Cathy our dogs have made major strides. Both Woody and Bullseye are being properly leash trained, staying by our side and getting better with each walk. She is helping us work with Woody to remain calm when guests arrive and capture his attention when acting out. We are teaching Bullseye new commands and she is helping us acclimate him to a house with not only another dog, but five cats! We are very happy with our experience with “Trained by Cathy” and highly recommend her. She will adjust to your dog’s needs and work with you to form a healthy, loving relationship with your pet. “

Thank you Cathy!

Warm Regards,

The Kern Family

“Cathy was instantly a part of the family after we met.

The way she loves your dog is the closest to how you love your dog that you can get. She was essential in our puppy days helping to ensure we were building good habits and establishing boundaries. She is a complete natural when it comes to training dogs.”

Tucker came to us in April 2024. He's a 3 1/2 year old Lab mix. He was previously at a breeding facility in Ohio.

He came with many visible and invisible scars. Thanks to working with Cathy we can now walk Tucker without him reacting badly to other people and dogs on the walk. Using the correct lead and giving the proper correction made a world of difference. Giving him more boundaries in the house helped with his need to be attached to me at the hip! He will now sleep in the crate at night with the door open in our room. Leaving him is still a work in progress, but we're trying. Working with Kathy and using her tips has helped turn Tucker into a less overprotective pet...we're still working on that also. I can use a low vibration low noise nail grinder for his nails...he just lays down and trusts us to work on him. I know having the right person as a trainer and behaviorist has made all the difference!! Even a recent trip to the Vet was a little better. On entering a small dog started barking at him and he reacted badly. A few corrections and he layed down quietly...a big difference!! He's still leery of strangers but getting better.

Thank you Cathy

We want to say a huge thank you for your help and advice with Frank.

It is truly life changing + we're so glad we bumped into you that day with a very barky Frank.

Love from, Lily + Tyler.

I feel so fortunate you came into our lives.

Without you I can say whole-heartedly there would be no Chicken and I co-existing. You completely changed this dog into a lovely, well-trained part of the family. I guess I could also say there would be no Vanessa and I without you either, because I would not have been capable of loving Chicken the way I do now. Thank you so so so much for all you do for us and chicken. You really are the best.

In short, Cathy Montepeluso changed our lives.

My husband wanted a very specific, very stubborn type of dog breed: the infamous Belgian Malinois. This dog – the poster child for White House security and common leader among military squads or navy seals – was without a doubt the largest challenge we had ever encountered. One week into the job, and we didn’t think we could handle it.

But then we met Cathy. Immediately, without any prior encounter with her, our dog Rocco gave into her as if the respect and obedience she demanded from him oozed out of every pore in her body. Within an instant he both adored her and obeyed her, wanting to win her approval. Just like we did. After several training sessions with Cathy, she converted our crazy pup into the most loving and obedient member of our family.

Cathy did countless training sessions with us in our own home. She would never count down the minutes or hurry us and sometimes the sessions lasted for hours: however long we needed to feel secure about the lessons we had learned that day. She would then follow up throughout the week with us to check in and see how the reinforcement of those lessons was going. She encouraged us to call her at any time of the day or night if we had any questions at all.

And it doesn’t just stop at Rocco. With every dog owner we encounter, one conversation cannot go by without the mention of Cathy Montepeluso. You could say she has become a sort of revered local celebrity in our neighborhood. If your dog hasn’t been trained by Cathy, you’ve been wanting your dog to be trained by Cathy. For those that have been blessed with her magic touch, they cannot stop singing her praises. She is admired by everyone.

One of Cathy’s main lessons is that she doesn’t train your dog, she trains you. That all dogs are inherently good creatures, but it is the humans who need the work. In the end, she trained both us and Rocco. And the only thing left in question is, who loves her more.

Please trust Cathy with your dog. She will change his/her life, just as much as she’s changed ours.

“I'm not sure where to start! Not only have you made an impact on our dogs’ lives but mine as well.

Thank you for being patent with me, Ollie + Violet as they are not always good listeners (I learned this is my fault and its true! I admire your ability to teach these dogs and invest so much time into them as if they are all your own! It has not been an easy two years for any of us, but l appreciate the personal support you have continued to show for me…. and my job. It was always refreshing to hear words of encouragement! You have made such a dent on our hearts we will not forget. I will be weird not seeing you and Talon around the neighborhood as you guys have become such amazing pals.”

We appreciate you so much and will so miss you!
